Thank You League Members

Many of you participated in different aspects of the recent election.  Some members helped publicize the league’s stand on the Bottle Bill, others worked for candidates, and others encouraged and helped people to register to vote. The Ballot Questions’ results did not turn out as we had  hoped, but I think the LWV learned a lot from this experience. The leagues’s visibility may help us attract new members who are interested in fair elections.

The LWV is continuing to work on the issue of Campaign Finance reform.  The Federal Election Commission can do something to stop the secret money that is used to finance many election ads and mailings. The LWV and other groups have started working on this issue and members will be asked to help in this effort.  Making democracy is our focus.
